Sth Gippy
Hills

The asymmetrical form of our Sth Gippy Hills project is inspired directly from the site and mimics the sloped topography of the land on which it sits. It is perched high on Mt Best and captures extensive views across Corner Inlet to Wilson’s Promontory.

The dwelling has an intentionally compact footprint within the rugged environment but internally spirals up three storeys along a central exposed recycled brick spine. Large exposed Bluegum trusses by Amber Creek Sawmill form the roof structure and are the focal point of the upper main living, dining, kitchen areas and mezzanine bedroom.

This home uses high quality bespoke finishes throughout sourced locally wherever possible. It incorporates hand made features such as ceramic basins by Vally Plains Pottery and an incredible therapeutic copper bath.

The building is integrated with the land, whilst maximising connection through strategically placed windows and view lines to the spectacular South Gippsland landscape beyond.
